Gov. Abbott’s Human Trafficking, Pastors as Pawns, the Missing Mary Magdelene

If you haven’t had the chance to read Jonathan’s article on the danger of Andy Stanley’s newest book and the political theology it represents, do give that a look. It’s a really good one. And since we know you aren’t content to just read one little article this week, here are our usual highlights as we seek to leave colonized faith for the Kingdom of God.
Jonathan’s Recommendations:
The governor of Texas wants to run for President. As a publicity stunt, he is trafficking vulnerable migrants who cross the border to New York City and Washington D.C. to bolster his numbers with the MAGA crowd. This podcast interview with Murad Awawdeh, the executive director of New York Immigration Coalition and NYIC Action, discusses this exploitation of asylum seekers for political gain. Men, women, and children are signing documents in English that they can’t read and travelling to cities that were not their destination, often under false pretense or with no explanation at all. This is a sad, enraging reality of the country in which we live. Seeking the Kingdom in this situation looks like genuine lament, generosity, and fervent intercession.
