Leaving Colonized Faith for the Kingdom of God

KTF Press centers and elevates marginalized voices in the Church through a podcast, a weekly newsletter, articles, and books. We help Christians communicate across our lines of difference with both kindness and an uncompromising dedication to resisting all types of oppression in the Church.

Our podcast, Shake the Dust, features personal and prophetic discussions on culture, politics, and faith disentangling Jesus’ kingdom from the idols of Western Christianity. There are transcripts of every show, released the same day as the episode. Paid subscribers get bonus episodes with transcripts as well.

Our free weekly newsletter curates essential media around culture, politics, and faith to help you grow in discipleship and political education. We also publish commentary and personal essays identifying, explaining, and helping us exorcize the idolatry that sustains colonized faith. In 2020, we published an anthology, Keeping the Faith: Reflections on Politics and Christianity in the Era of Trump and Beyond. Thirty-six writers, pastors, activists, and scholars charted how so much of the white American church became beholden to Donald Trump’s Republican Party, and how we can move forward faithfully.

In 2023, we published the debut book of writer, speaker, and nonprofit founder Tamice Spencer-Helms. It’s a powerful memoir and theological reflection called Faith Unleavened: The Wilderness between Trayvon Martin and George Floyd. With brilliant prose and gripping storytelling, Tamice takes us on the painful but liberating journey of extracting the leaven of whiteness from spirituality, and rediscovering the parts of ourselves that a colonized Christianity seeks to suppress.
